Ingredients
  

  • Gluten Free Crackers I used Schar Table Crackers
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips
Optional for Topping
  • Crushed Candy Canes
  • Festive Sprinkles
  • Chopped Nuts

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°. Line baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Arrange gluten free crackers in a single layer to cover the entire baking sheet
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and sugar over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens into toffee.
  4. Pour the hot toffee evenly over the crackers, spreading with a spatula to cover every corner.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes until the toffee bubbles. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
  6. Let the chocolate sit for 2 minutes, then spread evenly with a spatula.
  7. Add your favorite festive toppings or sea salt for a sweet-salty bite.
  8. Cool completely in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, then break into pieces.
  9. Store in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to a month.
