Streusel Topping Without Oats!

So many of you diagnosed with Celiac Disease can not tolerate oats, even those that are labeled gluten free, or purity protocol oats. Typically, most desserts with a crumble topping contain oats. Because of this, I wanted to create a gluten free apple crisp recipe without oats that everyone can enjoy!

Ingredients for the Best Oat-Free Sheet Pan Apple Crisp

Starting with these handful of ingredients, you are all set to start making this delicious dessert! First, here's what you will need:

  • Apples. I use Granny Smith or Honey Crisp, or a combo of both!
  • Lemon Juice
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Cornstarch. Tapioca flour works well too.
  • Salt

For the Crumble Topping you will also need:

  • Gluten Free 1:1 Flour
  • Almond Flour
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Salted Butter

Instructions on How to Make This Perfect Apple Crisp with a Crumbly Top!

First, begin your baking by preheating your oven to 375 degrees.

While the oven is preheating, use a large bowl to place the apple slices in. Continue to add your mixture of your measured ingredients to the bowl and mix! Once well coated, spread the apple mixture across a large baking sheet until even.

In a separate bowl, combine the ingredients for the crumble toppings once measured. Make sure to press the cut-up butter into the mixture with a fork until the crumbles appear! Once complete finish by sprinkling the mixture over the apples on the pan.

Just like that your Apple Crisp is ready to be popped in the oven for 30 minutes or until the crumble is golden and the apples are bubbling! Eat warm topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
