These Honey Ginger Asian Meatballs are bursting with Asian-inspired flavor. They're sweet, they're savory and they're the perfect takeout fakeout when you're craving Chinese food! These meatballs are gluten free, dairy free and soy free, quick to prep, and are a healthy meal you can have on the table in less than 30 minutes.
Meatballs are one of the most versatile and well loved foods in our house! Whenever I make any kind of meatballs, I like to make A LOT.
Batch cooking is an essential time-saving hack! One, because we have a family of six and eat a ton of food. And two, because if you're going to spend the time in the kitchen rolling up meatballs by hand, you might as well make enough for another meal or two...or three!
If you're not going to eat all of them right away, they freeze great in an airtight container for at least 2 months.
What Ingredients Do I Need To Make This Asian Meatball Recipe?
Here's what you'll need for the meatballs:
- Ground Beef
- Eggs. Helps bind the beef together.
- Coconut Aminos. A soy-free alternative to soy sauce. Be sure to use coconut aminos and not liquid aminos.
- Pantry Staples. Garlic powder, ground ginger and salt & pepper to taste.
Ingredients for the sauce:
- Coconut Aminos
- Rice Vinegar
- Sesame Oil
- Fresh Garlic Clove
- Ground Ginger
- Honey
- Tapioca Flour mixed with water for thickening the sauce.
Optional Garnishes because they make the meal look extra fancy!
- Chopped Green Onions
- Sesame Seeds
These Honey Ginger Meatballs are not only delicious, but they're perfect for meal prep lunches or feeding a crowd. You can make a batch the night before serving because they reheat really well. Keep these meatballs on the smaller size, serve with cute little sticks and you have yourself the perfect appetizer.

This turned out sooooooo salty that we could not even eat it. My lips were tingling.

Hi, can you please tell me what product you used when making this recipe? It's meant for coconut aminos(more sweet than salty)...not liquid aminos or soy sauce.
Jana
Hi, can ground pork be used instead of beef?
Thank you

Hello can I use gluten free tamari instead of coconut aminos for both the sauce and meatballs?

Hi,
I came across your recipe on Pinterest. It looks really delicious. I was wondering if I could substitute gf soy sauce for the coconut aminos, in case I can't find it in the store? I live in a small town and sometimes unique foods are hard to come by or super expensive.
Thanks!
Storm
I have almond flour on hand, can I use that instead?
ThrivingGlutenFree
I have never used almond flour to thicken a sauce, but you can try! I would suggest cornstarch to replace the tapioca flour, or a GF all purpose flour would work also, just wouldn't be grain free anymore.
