How to Make Crispy Broiled Salmon

Step 1: Prep the Salmon

Start by patting your salmon filets dry with a paper towel. This step is key for getting that crispy top.

Place the salmon on a foil-lined baking sheet (for easy cleanup).

Step 2: Season

Sprinkle each filet with:

  • Seasoned salt
  • Paprika
  • Parsley flakes

Don't be shy here, this is where the flavor builds.

Step 3: Broil

Set your oven to broil (high) and place the salmon about 5-6 inches from the heat. Broil the seasoned salmon until almost cooked, about 6-8 minutes.

Step 4: Add Butter and Parmesan

Top each salmon portion with thin slices of butter then sprinkle a generous layer of parmesan cheese over the top of each filet. This is what creates that irresistible crispy crust under the broiler.

Step 5: Broil Again to Perfection

Broil salmon for 3-4 minutes, depending on thickness, until:

  • The top is golden and crispy
  • The salmon flakes easily with a fork

Keep a close eye during the last few minutes. Broilers work fast!

What to Serve with Broiled Salmon Filets

Pair this salmon with your favorite gluten free sides for a complete meal:

  • Roasted vegetables (broccoli, asparagus, or carrots)
  • Garlic mashed potatoes
  • Rice or quinoa
  • Fresh salad with lemon vinaigrette

For a lighter option, serve it over a bed of greens or cauliflower rice.

Storage & Reheating

Storing Leftovers

Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheating Tips

To keep it from drying out:

  • Reheat in the oven at 300°F until warmed through
  • Or use an air fryer for a few minutes to bring back crispiness

Avoid microwaving if possible because it can make the salmon rubbery.

This crispy broiled salmon recipe is the perfect combination of easy, healthy, and delicious. With a buttery parmesan topping and a perfectly flaky texture, it's a meal you'll want to make again and again.
