Ingredients You'll Need

You only need 5 simple ingredients and 2 easy steps to make this recipe! This snack is great to keep on hand in the fridge. Pack in lunchboxes, or grab one or two for a quick afternoon pick-me-up.

  • Pure Peppermint Extract. The key here is peppermint extract, not mint extract.
  • Raw cacao powder. Rich, chocolatey, and packed with antioxidants.
  • Pitted Dates. A natural sweetener that also helps bind everything together.
  • Nuts. Cashews or almonds work great. You can also use hemp seeds to keep the recipe nut-free.
  • Coconut Oil. Helps the bliss balls firm up and adds healthy fats.

How to Make this Chocolate Peppermint Bliss Balls Recipe

Step 1: Blend the Dates
Add pitted dates to a food processor and blend until they form a sticky paste.

Step 2: Add the Dry Ingredients
Add raw cacao powder and nuts (or hemp seeds) to the processor. Pulse until the mixture becomes crumbly but starts to stick together.

Step 3: Add Flavor & Fat
Pour in melted coconut oil and add peppermint extract. Blend again until the mixture forms a thick dough.

Step 4: Roll & Chill
Scoop out small portions and roll into bite-sized balls. Place them on a plate or baking sheet and refrigerate until firm.

That's it. No baking, no mess, and no other equipment beyond a food processor.

Tips for the Best Texture & Flavor

  • Start with less peppermint extract and add more if needed.
  • If the mixture feels dry, add a little more coconut oil
  • If it's too sticky, pulse in extra nuts or hemp seeds
  • Chill before serving for the best texture

Storage & Make-Ahead Tips

Store bliss balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. They also freeze great! Just thaw for a few minutes before eating.

Keeping a batch in the fridge is dangerous in the best way-they're the perfect grab-and-go treat when you want something sweet but not over-the-top.

I love how simple this snack is to make and that it's made with real, good-for-you ingredients. If you love mint and chocolate as much as I do, I hope you try these out!

Let's eat!
